Tokyo, Japan — Japanese rap duo Creepy Nuts have hit a major milestone: the pair's new single “Mirage” debuted at number one on Billboard Japan's “Global Japan Songs Exluding Japan” chart for the week of July 4-10, 2025. They also claimed the second spot with “Otonoke” and number three with “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” making them the first act ever to occupy the top three positions on the chart simultaneously.
“Mirage,” released on July 4, 2025, serves as the opening theme for the anime Call of the Night Season 2. Its dreamy guitar riffs helped propel the track to accumulate 3.81 million combined audio and video streams in its first week, securing Creepy Nuts' third number one on this chart, following previous chart-toppers “Otonoke” and “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born."
This unprecedented achievement cements Creepy Nuts' position in both the domestic and international music scene. Underlining this, “Mirage” debuted at the top of charts in the UK, France, Germany, and South Africa, marking a significant surge in global recognition .
Creepy Nuts are fresh from winning a record-breaking nine awards at MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN held this past May, including Best Song and Best Domestic Hip-Hop/Rap Artist. They also won Best Anime Song and Best Opening at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 for “Otonoke,” the opening theme for the hit anime DAN DA DAN.
This July, five of the duo's songs (“Gōhō-teki Tobikata no Susume,” “Yofukashi no Uta,” “Datten,” “Katsute Tensai Datta Oretachi e,” and “Bakamajime”) each surpassed 100 million streams, according to Billboard Japan.
On Spotify's Global Top Japanese Songs for the first half of 2025, “Otonoke” ranked number one and “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” reached number four.
