Monster Strike Anime's 1st 2 Episodes Posted With English Subtitles

Yūsuke Kobayashi, Jun Fukushima, Lynn star in anime of mobile RPG

The official website for the anime of mixi's Monster Strike mobile action role-playing game began streaming the first two episodes with English subtitles on Saturday.

The company mixi describes the game:

Slingshot monsters and watch as they bounce around like pinballs, destroying enemies in their wake. Play with up to three other friends in this co-op action RPG. Become a master and collect over 1,000 unique and powerful monsters — staking your claim as the best Striker around!

The anime's voice cast includes:

Yūsuke Kobayashi (The Heroic Legend of Arslan's Arslan, Yona of the Dawn's Su-Won) as Ren Homura


Lynn (Hero Company's Saki Tsurugi, Survival Game Club!'s Maya Kyōdō) as Aoi Mizusawa


Kengo Kawanishi (Aldnoah.Zero's Kisaki Matsuribi, A Lull in the Sea's Gaku Egawa) as Akira Kagetsuki


Juri Kimura (School-Live!'s Kei Shidō, Shirobako's Aoi Miyamori) as Minami Wakaba


Jun Fukushima (Yowamushi Pedal's Naruko, No Game, No Life's Former King) as Oragon, the franchise's mascot character


The anime will stream a new episode every Saturday. The anime is available in multiple languages, including Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean.

Kōki Kimura serves as the project's chief director at XFlag Studios, while Youhei Suzuki is credited as the project manager. Relatively new director Kazuya Ichikawa is helming the anime, while Jiro Ishii (CANAAN) is handling the story and project composition. Yoichi Kato (Yo-kai Watch, Aikatsu!) is supervising and writing the scripts. Tatsurō Iwamoto (Ace Attorney games) drew the original character designs, while Masayuki Kondo drew the monster designs. Nao Hirasawa is credited as producer. Hiroshi Miyazaki is credited for animation production. Studio Hibari and Ultra Super Pictures are producing the anime.

The company Mixi released Monster Strike on iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2013, and has since launched an English version on iTunes and Google Play. A Nintendo 3DS version of the game is in development for release this year.
