Rensselaer's convention to take place March 2-4

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Genericon convention announced on Wednesday that it will host Studio Trigger's Kazuya Masumoto, Masahiko Otsuka, and Takafumi Hori at this year's event.

Masumoto joined GAINAX in 2006, where he served on the production staff for anime such as Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Gurren Lagann. He left Gainax with Hiroyuki Imaishi and Otsuka to form Studio Trigger in 2011, and has since been involved in the production of titles such as Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, and Kiznaiver.

Before establishing Studio Trigger with Imaishi, Otsuka directed Petite Princess Yucie and worked as an episode director on FLCL, Gunbuster 2: Diebuster, Gurren Lagann, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. He has since served as executive producer and scriptwriter for Little Witch Academia, chief director and writer for When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace, and episode director for Kill la Kill and Kiznaiver.

Hori worked as animation director for Kill la Kill, Michiko & Hatchin, and Garo the Animation. He also served as a key animator for Summer Wars, Samurai Champloo, Redline, Space Patrol Luluco, Little Witch Academia, and Lupin the Third: Jigen's Gravestone, among other titles.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosts the yearly anime, science fiction, and gaming convention in Troy, New York. This year's event will be held from March 2 through 4.
