From what little I watched of the anime the manga and anime diverged a lot (I couldn't watch it because I'd already had a voice I imagined for Daisuke and it didn't match), but the anime stops at around the point where Toto appears.

The entire second half of the anime is completely different from the manga - shortly after the Ice and Dark plot if I remember correctly - primarily because that's all that was out of the manga at the time. So the anime came up with its own plot. Unfortunately this has happened to every single adaptation of Sugisaki's work into anime form that I've seen...the fifth volume of Megami Kohousei and the last three episodes of the anime were completely different, and neither actually finished (despite both being very intriguing). At least the DNAngel anime got its own ending thanks to its popularity.

I'd like to support her...but I'm afraid I just... need to see how much of this new one actually comes out. I don't want to fall in love with another manga only to have it left hanging again...

I'm looking forward to this and everything too...........I just hope nothing horrible happens to her or me that'll prevent me from seeing Lagoon Engine/Einsatz to the end. Stay safe and try being health everyone...

I was planning to come in here and ask if she had ever bothered to finish Lagoon Engine/Einsatz, and not only found an answer to that question, but was also reminded that D.N.Angel and Candidate for Goddess were both left at cliffhangers, too. Now I'm completely depressed.
Guess I won't even bother investigating this series further.

At least the Brain Powerd manga was completed, though that was an adaptation of the anime.

Man, I'm not sure how to feel about this. I really like all of her stories a LOT, but D.N.Angel is and always will be my favorite manga. So while I'm glad to see that something was going on...well, I'm sad it wasn't D.N.Angel. Hell, I'd take returning to Lagoon Engine, or even Ascribe to Heaven, over a new series!

But I'm actually not sure she can finish D.N.Angel. Judging by some of her tweets, it seems like having to stop that particular series was out of her control.

Well, I can still try to hold out hope!

Would it count as a one liner if my response to this is NOOoOOoOOoOoOOOO!!

How come all the 'light BL with adventure' manga I follow have their manga-ka running themselves into a corner? First Yami no Matsuei, now D.N.Angel. I'm still holding some hope for Tactics, but it's dim hope.
