And you won't need to drain Japan's power grid

Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy announced on Thursday that its Plarail and Shinkalion brands are collaborating again with popular anime franchise Evangelion. This time, the toy lines are recreating Operation Yashima from the 2007 film Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone (and by extension, from the original 1995 television anime).

The Plarail set features the JNR Class DD51 and the Shiki Class 880 train cars — complete with three ultra-high-voltage transformers, and the Shinkalion toy is the transformable 500 Type EVA Positron Form. Both sets will be available on December 6. The Plarail set is slated to cost 4,950 yen and the Shinkalion 500 Type EVA Positron Form 7,920 yen (about US$33 and US$52, respectively).

Takara Tomy released a promotional video for the toys on its YouTube channel. At just over two minutes long, the video pays homage to Operation Yashima, but it is currently only available in Japan.
