Heh, I kinda saw this coming one day. I bet this will air likely next year though since we have another LN adaptation (The Asterisk War) to air for Fall.

Wow, great timing! I just finished translating the fifth volume to Chinese and Korean.

Before reading it, I thought this series is no more than a mash-up of infinite stratos and numerous pseudo-medieval setting light novels, but I was surprised how good it is. The combination of decent world-building, ever-improving plot (volume 5 being the climax) and not-your-typical-harem-lead, both strategically intelligent and powerful (almost to the point of overpowered) in combat main protagonist makes this series quite an enjoyable experience.

Of course harem is still the main element of this series, how well the anime will handle the balance between romance and action will determine whether this series is a success or not

This looks like a mecha harem. Am I correct? If I am, I am out.

Sounds incredibly boring.

Overpowered male protagonist? Check.
All-female school? Check.
Harem elements? Check.
Female stereotype characters? Check.
Plenty of fanservice? I bet.
Generic LN fantasy world? Check.

You know, plenty of people said Vanadis is good before it aired, but the first episode already proved them wrong. The amount of generic light novel adaptions is insane, and while there are always some good adaptions, the majority of them are uninspired, bland and an infinite repetition of the same formular. One or two "unusual" elements won't change that.

And that's what Japanese consumers buy. Meh.

Forgive my ignorance, but does this story have anything to do with Rage of Bahamut?

Nope, this is just your average everyday light novel.

The story of the light novel series revolves around Lux, a former prince of an empire named Arcadia that was overthrown via a rebellion five years earlier. Lux accidentally trespasses in a female dormitory's bathing area, sees the kingdom's new princess Lisesharte naked, and incurs her wrath. Lisesharte then challenges Lux to a Drag-Ride duel. Drag-Rides are ancient armored mechanical weapons that have been excavated from ruins all around the world. Lux used to be called the strongest Drag-Knight, but now he's known as the "undefeated weakest" Drag-Knight because he will absolutely not attack in battle. After his duel with Lisesharte, Lux ends up attending the female-only academy that trains royals to be Drag-Knights.

It's not just me, is it? But you could literally take all the character names out of that, and it would describe at least 5 or 6 recent. Not just generic, but literally the same plot. If I didn't know this was from a different article, I would have thought it was a description of that Blade Dance series from a couple of seasons back.

Harem? LN adaptation? CG mechs? This one will be getting the 3 episode rule treatment from me. At least its title isn't a synopsis of the plot so that's a start.

Not to mention disgusting lolicon tendencies and other stuff.
And people wonder why anime is looked down upon...

I just burst out laughing when I saw that both this and Hundred will get anime adaptations. I've read the mangas and they are both generic, mech-themed, moe-filled, "I'm the loneliest MC there is but somehow I got girls flocking to me" type of series. I'll probably watch this for the laughs, though.

What a great Sunday this his.
News about "Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut" and "Hundred" getting anime adaptations on the same day is so good.

I know both are typical battle harem LN, without a very deep story, but this exactly what the doctor recommends to have a entertaining evening after a hard day of work.

My wife watch her shoujo and magical girl animes and i watch my battle harem animes.
