Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid gets mini OVA episodes

Online retailer Amazon is listing Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A, Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, and Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid with six two-episode DVD and Blu-ray sets for a total of 12 episodes each.

Each volume of Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid will also have a mini OVA episode.

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid will premiere on October 10.

The "beautiful girl sexy battle action" anime is set on five artificial islands. A girl named Mamori Tokonome is transferred to one of those islands, "Mermaid." When Mamori is attacked, a newly transferred girl named Mirei saves her. The enemy doesn't stop, however, and the two are soon cornered. Just when they think all hope is lost, Mirei kisses Mamori, and Mamori turns into a sword. Mirei then wields the sword and launches a counterattack against their enemies.

The television anime adaptation of Chūgaku Akamatsu and Kobuichi's Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A (Hidan no Aria AA) spinoff manga will premiere on October 6 and Funimation will stream the series as it airs.

The story revolves around Akari Mamiya (played by Ayane Sakura), a first-year E-rank student at Tokyo Butei High School who aims to become a Butei and idolizes her S-rank upperclassman Aria H. Kanzaki (Rie Kugimiya). The high school has an "Amica" system where one upperclassman is paired with one underclassmen for training, and the manga follows Akari as she strives to get Aria to become her Amica.

Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry (A Tale of Worst One or A Chivalry of the Failed Knight) adapts Riku Misora's light novel series. It will premiere in Japan on October 4.

The "school sword action" story revolves around Magic Knights, modern magic-users who fight with weapons converted from their souls. Ikki Kurogane goes to a school for these Magic Knights, but he is the "Failed Knight" or "Worst One" who is failing because he has no magical skills. However, one day, he is challenged to a duel by Stella, a foreign princess and the "Number One" student. In this duel, "the loser must be obedient for life."
