NIS America Reveals April PC Release for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Dana Game
posted on by Alex Mateo
Takuro Yamashita, president and CEO of NIS America, revealed on a video on Greg's RPG HeaveN's YouTube channel that NIS America plans to release its Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA role-playing game on PC in April 2018.
The company previously delayed the PC release to "an as-of-yet indeterminate date." The PC release had been set for January 30.
NISA explained that for the PC version, NISA noticed low framerate issues and memory lead problems from the game's earliest PC builds. The company is still noticing framerate drops in some circumstances of the game, and it has determined that it "must modify the core level of data in the game." The company made the decision in light of feedback from those who participated in the second beta test. NISA added that after it implements the changes from the relocalization efforts at the end of this month, the company will be moving development to a different developer who will focus on the framerate improvements and other PC optimizations.
Nihon Falcom released the game in Japan in May 2017 and NIS America released the game for PS4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in September 2017.
The game is also still slated for a release on the Nintendo Switch in Japan and the West this summer.
