Nihon Falcom Announces Nayuta no Kiseki Game for PSP

posted on by Egan Loo
Latest Kiseki game to have different settings, characters, system from previous ones

The game publisher Nihon Falcom announced on Wednesday that it is making a PSP game called Nayuta no Kiseki for next year. The new game will be the latest in the Kiseki role-playing game franchise that has sold over 1.3 million copies. However, Nayuta no Kiseki will start over from scratch, with new settings, characters, and game system. Nihon Falcom specifically described the new game's genre as "to be determined."

Nihon Falcom is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, but this new game represent a new start for the company.

Nihon Falcom previewed the title logo and a preliminary illustration. The 4gamer website notes that the title logo features a giant, satellite-like machine, while the preliminary illustration features four worlds, each with a different geography and climate, as floating islands similar to Laputa.

The Kiseki franchise inspired a promotional anime DVD bundled with a manga adaptation and a standalone Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki (The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky) anime. Xseed Games is releasing the Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki game trilogy under the title The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on the Sony PSP system in North America; the publisher shipped the first chapter in March.
