Resident Evil Films' Anderson: Monster Hunter Film in Planning

Director/writer/producer Paul W. S. Anderson reveals personal passion for games


Paul W. S. Anderson, the English director, writer, and producer of the live-action Resident Evil (Biohazard) films, told the Cinema Today website that a film adaptation of the Monster Hunter games is in planning now. In an article posted on Tuesday, Cinema Today asked Anderson which title that he is aiming to make into a film next. Anderson replied that he has been a huge fan of Monster Hunter lately, and then revealed the Monster Hunter film plans. Like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter is a CAPCOM franchise.

About the closest that Monster Hunter has come to a live-action adaptation are the life-size monster animatronics that come out every year during the "Monster Hunter the Real in Universal Studios Japan" exhibition:
