Japan Screen Music Symphony Orchestra to Hold Anime Concert

Hits from Madoka Magica, Evangelion, Attack on Titan to be performed

As a nod to the influence of anime and the power of the music that accompanies it, the Japan Screen Music Symphony Orchestra will conduct a concert of anime music in Tokyo on July 20. Anime Symphonia will incorporate music from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Attack on Titan, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, as well as selections from less well-known works.

The program is split into "afternoon" and "evening" sections. The afternoon section's selection will be:

PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA

First movement: Incipito ("Sis puella magica!," "Salve, terrae magicae")
Second movement: Venari Strigas ("Umbra nigra," "Venari strigas," "Agmen clientum")
Third movement: Vera ("Symposium megarum," "Inevitabilis," "Puella in somnio")
Fourth movement: Goddess Ah ("Surgam identidem," "Nux Walpurgis")

"Hacking to the GATE" from Steins;Gate sung by Kanako Itō
"GATE OF STEINER" from Steins;Gate

The evening section's program will be:

The second portions will both include the same selection of pieces from Attack on Titan. A secret piece will also be included. The Attack on Titan selections are:

The concert will be conducted by Kazumasa Watanabe, conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, with singer-songwriter Takeshi Washizaki and actress Fūka Haruna (Akumu-chan, Barairo no Būko). The musicians are largely from the NHK Symphony Orchestra.

The concert will be held at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo on July 20. The afternoon concert begins at 1:30 p.m. while the evening concert starts at 5:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from 6,900 to 10,000 yen (or US$57 to US$83) and can be purchased at e+, Ticketpia, LAWSON or Bunkamura.
