Eagle Talon's DLE Makes Public Service Announcements

DLE, the studio behind the comedy anime series Eagle Talon, is now applying its Flash animation skills to various public service announcements. One campaign, Kokoro no Tōkyō Kakumei ("Tokyo Revolution of the Heart"), in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan government, aims to improve Tokyoites' public manners and regard for others.

The video reminds viewers that the Olympics and Paralympics are coming to Tokyo in five years and exhorts them to make Japan "something they can be proud of." The campaign emphasizes that adults behave well, because they will set a good example for children, and "when children change, the future will change too."

This video introduces the series' main characters, Animal Hamaguchi (a former pro wrestler), and his daughter, Kyōko Hamaguchi (a current pro wrestler), who chide a woman for not returning children's greetings.

DLE is also working on a campaign with Kanagawa Prefecture — a mostly suburban prefecture south of Tokyo — called Kanakana Kazoku ("Kanakana Family") to educate the public on the prefecture's policies and programs. Its main characters are Rika, an energetic 17-year-old girl, and Kanabō, a mysterious life-form. In this video, two little girls diagnose Rika's father with mibyō, a condition that indicates an oncoming disease, when he complains of inexplicable mood swings. Rika is played by Kana Asumi (Yuno in Hidamari Sketch, Miya in Amagami SS).

DLE has previously worked with Zen-Noh, the National Federation of Agricultural Co-operative Associations, to promote domestically produced meat. Its series, O-niku Daisuki! Zeushi-kun ("Zeushi-kun Loves Meat!"), portrays a prince of the Meat Kingdom, Zeushi-kun, and his stuffed cow, Minota, who live with a girl when they notice she has a protein deficiency. It aired on TV in January 2014 and migrated to YouTube in November; see the first season here. Zeushi is voiced by Kana Hanazawa (Nadeko in Bakemonogatari, Mayuri in Steins;Gate), while Minota is voiced by Nobuyo Ōyama (Doraemon in Doraemon, Monokuma in Danganronpa The Animation).

Yoshida, an Eagle Talon character, has recently appeared in a smartphone game crossover with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Masako Nozawa has voiced 8 characters in an Eagle Talon anime extra.
