TeniPuri Festa Will Declare Series' Best Character Songs Out of 800

This year's TeniPuri Festa, a yearly event to celebrate Takeshi Konomi's The New Prince of Tennis manga, is adding some competition to its line-up. The July issue of Jump Square magazine revealed on June 3 that TeniPuri Festa 2016 ~Gassen~'s ("Battle") theme will be battle, as the subtitle suggests. Fans will be able to vote on their favorite out of the series' 800 unique character songs to declare the top 10 duet, group, and solo tracks. The polls will open on June 13 at 10 AM on the festival website.
The festival will be held at the Nippon Budōkan, a major concert venue in Tokyo. On October 15 at 5:30 PM, the top 10 duet songs will be announced. As the event falls on his birthday, the character Yūshi Oshitari will get a party on that day, too. The top 10 group songs will follow on the October 16 at 12 PM, along with an original drama. The festival concludes with the best 10 solo songs and the best three overall songs at 5:30 PM. Members of the New Prince of Tennis cast will be performing as well; a total of 33 actors have been announced so far.
A raffle for ticket sales will begin on June 4 at 6 PM at the aforementioned festival website. Those purchasing an SS ticket will receive a lanyard, neck towel, and a special Playbutton (a badge-shaped audio player) with a TeniPuri Festa 2016 ~Gassen~ version of “Party Time," featuring characters Ryōma Echizen, Tezuka Kunimitsu, Keigo Atobe, Seiichi Yukimura, Eishirō Kite, Kuranosuke Shiraishi, and Hōō Byōdōin, along with cast comments.
The New Prince of Tennis manga is a sequel to Prince of Tennis, and follows Ryōma Echizen and the other members of the Seishun Academy tennis club along their journey to the top. An anime adaptation by the same name aired from January to March of 2012. The manga began in 2009 and is still ongoing.
