posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Tokyo's JOYPOLIS theme park revealed more details this week on its upcoming collaboration with the Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film. The attractions are launching on January 21 and running until to February 26. The "Gekijō-ban Sword Art Online -Ordinal Scale- - in JOYPOLIS Extra Stage JOYPOLIS o Kōryaku Seyo!" (Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale - in JOYPOLIS Extra Stage Capture JOYPOLIS!) collaboration event is commemorating the Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film opening and the 20th anniversary of the Tokyo JOYPOLIS theme park.

The attractions include a projection mapping laser show introducing the series' characters and featuring songs from the TV series. The show is free.

The park's Half Pipe Tokyo ride will play four songs from the TV series and film and show Kirito and Asuna battling. Participants can affect the show based on how many times they spin.

Visitors can also participate in a mystery-solving game to win a photo gift, get unique Sword Art Online-themed fortunes at the Fortune Forest, win special gifts from the park's UFO catcher and carnival games, buy unique merchandise and drinks, and enjoy special welcome voice recordings Kirito and Asuna's voice actors Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu in portions of the park.

The Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale anime film will open in United States theaters on March 9, 2017. Eleven Arts is distributing the film. Screenings will be in Japanese with English subtitles. The film will open in Japan on February 18 in 150 theaters.

JOYPOLIS has previously collaborated with musical artist T.M. Revolution, Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on Titan.
