Live Ghibli Podcast at BFI Southbank

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Recording on November 3

On November 3 at 3.30 p.m., there will be a live recording of a 60-minute podcast discussing Studio Ghibli, "Ghibliotheque", at the BFI Southbank.

Tickets are £15, with £12 concessions (BFI members will pay £2 less). They will be publicly available from October 6. There will also be £3 tickets on the day for under-25s.

The event is described as follows:

'Welcome to the Ghibliotheque, the podcast that leafs through the library of films from the world's greatest animation studio, Studio Ghibli. Michael Leader, an avowed Ghibli fanatic, sits down with Jake Cunningham, who has never seen any of the Studio's work before. Together they look at the history behind Ghibli's films (including Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro and Princess Mononoke), get a critical perspective from Jake as a first-time viewer and force Michael to rank some of his favourite ever films. First launched to coincide with Film4's comprehensive Studio Ghibli season over the summer, Ghibliotheque returns this winter, launching their second season live at Podstock.'

The six episodes of Ghibliotheque's first season are available here.
