NHK Releases Interim Results for Rumiko Takahashi Mega-Poll

NHK's upcoming program counting down the fan-favorite series by popular manga creator Rumiko Takahashi is set to premiere on November 16 but we've already got some of the interim results. NHK BS Premium revealed the midway results for two categories on a program on the 38-year history of Rumiko Takahashi anime series on October 17.

The revealed results were limited just to the "character" and "song" categories and even then, only 11th-30th place in the character category and 4th-10th place in the song category. The results are:

  • 12th place: Ataru Moroboshi (Urusei Yatsura)
  • 13th place: Sango (Inuyasha)
  • 14th place: Ukyo Kuonji (Ranma 1/2)

  • 16th place: Megane (Urusei Yatsura)

Fans are able to choose from 52 anime series, about 1100 characters, about 700 TV episodes, and about 160 songs. The results are still up in the air. Votes will be accepted on the program's website until November 4.
