Dengeki Bunko's Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru, Unnamed Memory top cumulative rankings

The 2020 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook is out, and to celebrate its titles taking the top spot, light novel publisher Dengeki Bunko released a special movie featuring rap artist ACE.

ACE is Brazilian and was raised in Japan and was chosen to perform the rap because of his love for Dengeki Bunko. In the video, he recites the names of the two winning titles: Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru ("Seven Swords Dominate", lit. "Seven Magic Swords Rule"), which won in the bunkobon (smaller A6-sized books), and Unnamed Memory, which won in the tankōbon (larger B6-sized books) category.

He also raps lines such as "From chapter 0 to 100, the author and the art are a lightning bolt" and "Dengeki Bunko transcends shock", referencing the fact that "Dengeki" means "electric shock" in Japanese.

Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru is written by Bokuto Uno (Alderamin on the Sky) and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki. Dengeki Bunko published the first volume in September 2018, and the fourth volume shipped on October 10. Sakae Esuno (Future Diary, Big Order) is drawing the manga adaptation for Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine. The manga launched in May, and the first compiled volume shipped on October 10.

Unnamed Memory is written by Kuji Furumiya with illustrations by chibi. Furumiya first launched the novel on her personal website in 2008. Dengeki Bunko is publishing the series under its DENGEKI tankōbon imprint. The first volume released in January, and the third volume shipped on September 17, concluding "Act 1" of the series.

The Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook lists the cumulative rankings of light novels according to polls conducted among both fans and "collaborators" (critics, publishers, influencers, and other people related to the light novel industry).
