Voice Actor Hiro Shimono Reveals He Has Been Married For Over 10 Years
posted on by Kim Morrissy
Voice actor Hiro Shimono revealed that he has been married for over 10 years in an interview with the Shujo Prime tabloid published on Sunday. He has two children; the second was born this summer.
Shimono said that when he first got married, he did not think of himself as "a person in the spotlight," and mentioned that voice actors attract a lot more attention nowadays compared to 10 years ago. However, the matter of publicizing his marriage was still something that he worried about. In the end, he decided that his marriage and children had no relation to the characters he played, so he chose not to announce it.
Nevertheless, Shimono said he feels apologetic towards the fans who may be surprised at never being told the news. He expressed his hopes that fans will continue to support him professionally, along with the characters that he plays.
On Tuesday, Shimono updated his blog to affirm that Shujo Prime's report is true. He confirmed once again that he is married, and apologized to his fans for causing any worries or disturbances due to the abrupt nature of the announcement.
Shimono's numerous voice roles include Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Conny Springer in Attack on Titan, Nobimaru in Kemono Jihen, Nagayoshi Onagawa in Backflip!!, and Dabi in My Hero Academia.
