French President Emmanuel Macron Delivers Message at Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship

Japanese entertainment company Konami noted that French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a messaged during the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2025 Opening Ceremony on August 29. While the President was attending the France/Germany summit, Macron delivered a video message to the fans and players in attendance at the Yu-Gi-Oh! event. The message is currently available on the "YuGiOhCardEU" YouTube channel:

In his message, Macron showed off a Blue-Eyes White Dragon card and stated “I know that this is an important day for Yu-Gi-Oh! and the entire world of TCGs, which is gathered in France and it is a great source of pride for us to host the World Championships of your discipline, to have all the enthusiasts from around the world gathered in France, to live out their passion, their games, their universe.” He further stated, “I really wanted to say welcome to France, have a good game.”

The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2025 finals were held on August 31 at the Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, France. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME tournament was won by Julien Kehon. Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS' SPEED DUEL and RUSH DUEL saw Germany's Philipp Thomas and Taiwan's kama3 crowned champion. Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL saw Italy's Antonio ‘N3sh’ Papa, Sweden's Herman ‘Mist’ Hansson, and Croatia's Luka Forjan of Ragnarok take home the championship in a 3 vs. 3 format against Chaiba Corp.

A press release by Konami notes the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2026 will take place in Tokyo between August 29 to 30, 2026. As of press time no specific venue has been announced.
