BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend Game's Opening Anime Streamed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Expansion game arrives on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One on April 23 in Japan

Video game developer Arc System Works began streaming the opening anime sequence on Thursday for the BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend expansion game.

Arc System Works will release the game in Japan on April 23 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One. The company will release the PS Vita downloadable version on the same day.

Aksys Games will release the game in North America for the PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and Xbox One this summer.

Arc System Works will add a new scenario in the game's story mode that is based on Deko Akao, Toshimichi Mori, and Sumeragi's BlazBlue: Remix Heart spinoff manga. The manga centers on life at the Military Academy, three years before the first game. The scenario will include new characters that were previously featured only in the manga, such as Mai Natsume (voiced by Saori Hayami) and Cajun Faycott (voiced by Saki Fujita).

The game also includes two new playable characters, Celica and Lambda-11, and will refine the Overdrive mechanics from the previous game.

Those who purchase the first editions of the retail versions of the game will receive one of three rubber straps. Those who purchase the game from specific retail stores such as Imajin or Ebiten will also receive an illustration.

Arc System Works released the original arcade game in Japan in November 2012, and then released the game on PS3 in October 2013 and PS Vita in April 2014. The company released BlazBlue Chronophantasma Ver 2.0, an extension of the arcade version of the game with new characters and a new scenario, in Japan last October.

Aksys Games released the original BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma game in North America on PS3 last March and on PS Vita last June.
