Saban Listed as Promoting Smile Precure to Licensees as Glitter Force

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Show listed as 40-episode "girls action" series

Television news source World Screen's programming guide for Saban Brands lists a show titled Glitter Force that uses art from the Smile Precure! TV anime series, the ninth anime series in the Precure magical girl franchise.

The listing describes the show:

Follows five preteen girls who form the legendary superhero squad the Glitter Force, and must defend Earth from evil fairytale villains.

The show is listed as a "girls action" series, with 40 episodes of 22 minutes each. The Smile Precure! anime aired 48 episodes.

Smile Precure! premiered in Japan in February 2012. The series tells the story of five legendary warriors called Pretty Cures who have been gathered by a fairy from Märchenland, where characters from fairy tales mingled together. Their goal is to collect the Cure Décors, tokens of happiness that have been stolen and hidden away when Märchenland was attacked by the Bad End Kingdom, a land where fairy tale antagonists gather.

The series also received an anime film titled Eiga Smile Precure: Ehon no Naka wa Minna Chiguhagu! in October 2012.

As of press time, Saban Brands has not yet announced any release plans for Glitter Force. Saban Brands also did not return ANN's request for confirmation or comment by press time.

Saban Brands filed for the "Glitter Force" trademark in 2013.
