Action RPG available on iOS, Android this spring

Japanese video game developer tri-Ace (Star Ocean game series, Exist Archive) launched the official website for its upcoming action RPG smartphone game HeavenxInferno on Thursday. Baccano! and Durarara!! light novel author Ryohgo Narita is writing the game's scenario.

The game is currently the top ranked pre-order on the Yoyaku Top website. Yoyaku Top describes the story:

Humanity rid themselves of their old myths by burning them to ashes, and then created new gods from those ashes. And even the new gods don't know what it is they hold in their hands...
Humanity begins to walk the border between Heaven and Hell.

Humans, who were once at the mercy of the gods and devils, captured their power and created a technology called 'Nephilim.' You become the protagonist, a member of the Nephilim Executor Unit. To prevent the destruction of the world, you go to the front lines...

The game's battle stage features a concept of height. The player can move quickly between the different stage levels, with Heaven at the top and Hell at the bottom. Each level contains special characteristics, called "Stage Gimmicks," which can provide advantages and disadvantages during the battle.

Yuzo Koshiro (Etrian Odyssey, Shenmue game series) is composing the game's soundtrack. Ayako Kawasumi, Yumi Hara, Sumire Uesaka, and other voice actors are voicing the game's characters.

HeavenxInferno will be available for free for iOS and Android devices in Japan this spring. The game will have in-game purchases.
