Toonami Replaces One Piece Anime With Tokyo Ghoul Starting on March 25

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
One Piece premiered on programming block in May 2013

Adult Swim's Toonami programming block announced on Facebook on Friday that it is taking the One Piece anime series off its schedule starting on March 25. Toonami will start airing the Tokyo Ghoul anime series on the same day.

Toonami began airing One Piece in May 2013 starting with episode 207. The premiere garnered 995,000 viewers.

Toonami pushed back the programming block by half an hour starting on October 1, and now runs on Saturdays from 12:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.

The programming block most recently added both Dragon Ball Super and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 to its schedule starting on January 7. Toonami will debut Mamoru Oshii and Production I.G's five-part hybrid live-action/CG micro-series "Sand Whale and Me" on March 18.
