The June issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine revealed on Wednesday that the Bakutsuri Bar Hunter franchise is getting a Nintendo Switch game. The game will feature the Joycon controllers as the fishing reel. The completely new game will launch on the Switch this winter.

The magazine also published the final chapter of Sabakan Suzuki's Bakutsuri Bar Hunter manga (pictured at right) on Wednesday, but stated it will reveal information about a new manga for the franchise in the July issue on June 15. The manga launched in March 2018 in Coro Coro Comics. The manga's third volume will ship on June 28.

The multimedia franchise is a collaboration between Bandai, Shogakukan, and Toei Animation, and includes an anime, a manga, a game, and a toy line. Toei Animation is in charge of the anime, which premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliates last October, and is ongoing

Bandai began releasing the toy line starting with the "Bakutsuri Bar Rod" in March 2018. The Bakutsuri Bar Rod is an attachment for a player's Nintendo 3DS, and players can then download a free Bakutsuri Bar Hunter game for the 3DS to play the game.
