In the "Fox Hunt" online multiplayer mode, players team up in pairs and play with up to 12 players. The goal is to fight to survive in 3 types of fields, and those who fail to complete the objective in each phase will be removed from the mission. Two types of mission rules are available, which is selected at random for every match. The "Fox Hunt" mode also features the All-Terrain camouflage (AT-CAMO) suit and the unique search technique called Naked Sense.
Metal Gear Solid △: Snake Eater launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on August 28, and has shipped over 1 million copies worldwide, as of its launch date. The total includes physical shipments and digital sales. The PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam versions include the "Snake vs. Monkey" minigame from the original. The "Secret Theater" returns instead of the "Snake vs. Monkey" mode for the Xbox Series X|S version, which features "Snake vs. Bomberman," a new collaboration with another Konami franchise.
The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater game directed by Hideo Kojima debuted for PlayStation 2 in November 2004. There have since been remasters and versions of the game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita. The game received a Nintendo 3DS version in March 2011.
Most of the games in the Metal Gear Solid franchise follow Solid Snake, a special forces operative who slowly becomes involved in a global conspiracy. The first game in the series, released in 1998 on the PlayStation, sees him neutralizing a terrorist threat from a renegade special forces unit called Foxhound, who have taken hostages and seized control of a nuclear launch facility in Alaska.
