I have to give the English dub props for just going for it on all celebrity impressions involved with these bits. Especially Tom Croose Jr.

In the Latin American Spanish dub Tom Croose Jr. was actually voiced Tom Cruise's most recurring dub VA, Arturo Mercado Jr., the parody versions of the Fast and the Furious' Tej Parker, Roman Pearce and Luke Hobbs were also voiced by their real-life dub VAs, and Stocking as a parody of Marvel's The Thing was voiced by Juan Carlos Tinoco, who did voiced The Thing in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes. I love when the official dub voices of certain characters or celebrities voiced them in parodies, or in cameos like in The Simpsons.

Pantso is pretty much Gainax/Trigger’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force, where they can indulge in satiric whimsy and the points don’t matter (Wait, that’s Who’s Line is it Anyway?). The fact they didn’t lose that between seasons is why this season mostly worked.

All the parody episodes were probably my least favorite ones, funnily enough. And it felt like there was way too many this time around

I think the only bummer about season 2 is that they recast everyone from season 1. Not to diss the season 2 cast (especially once they started improving the script to match the level of season 1).

I'll watch it once Monica Rial and Jamie Marchi return for the redub once Crunchyroll is streaming this.

Definitely one of the few parts of the dub I actually liked. Shame everything else is a mixed bag.

Outside of the necessary changes with Garterbelt and Corset (& frankly the latter didn't work since Keith Silverstein is so different from Chris Ayres voice-wise), almost all the recasts fall into the camp of sounding too samey to S1's dub (Brief, the Demon Sisters) or radically different (Panty and Stocking). The script is incredibly inconsistent and sometimes doesn't take enough liberties which makes things come off stilted (e.g. the first few episodes use "Repent Bitch" only to suddenly switch back to S1's "Repent Motherfucker" for no reason, the lack of changes to the show's use of the word "Bitch", which is closer to meaning "slut" when used in Japan, makes nonsense like "Bitch-Shaming" really not work)

I really don't hold anything against the cast but I really do wonder who was responsible for this (especially when word of the dub auditions came out early and Jamie Marchi made it clear she was never contacted). Dubbing studio Pixelogic already showed they're capable of getting cast members back with the Mono dub which had some Laid Back Camp characters appear and even this dub has Texas regular Corey Wilder as one of the Angel brothers.

The season itself is still great and shows how Imaishi and team haven't lost a step (plus are going above and beyond) which just makes this sort of stuff surrounding it much more frustrating.

I have to agree with this. I was thinking with the most recent episode how Brief and the Demon Sisters sounded pretty consistent, but Panty and Stocking never quite managed it. Considering that remote recording is a thing, that Jamie and Monica had made it known they wanted to come back, and that the general direction was to try to sound like them, I don't know why they weren't cast here.

The Repent line is something I commented on in the reviews since it stuck out, and then it switching back seemed like a script change was implemented partway.

I don't think the overall results were bad, but it seems like there was indecisiveness behind the scenes where the initial approach was to do their own thing, and then at some point someone decided that a season 2 shouldn't feel too different from season 1.

With the Amazon dub I wonder if this is a union issue, i.e. Amazon has agreements with SAG to use union members for its original productions (including anything for which they are responsible for the actors, like an anime dub). One of the reason CR and Sentai are in Texas is because you can use non-union actors without issue. I don't know if Jamie Marchi and Monica Rial are SAG members but given the work they do with those 2 companies my guess is probably not as SAG would definitely have issue with it. This is just a guess as I don't know for sure. I do know Cristina Vee (Stocking) is a SAG member.

Is Courtney Lin SAG? Or fi-core? Asking because I don't know if the new Mario Kart game is union or not. That could be a key factor in this. Add to that the fact I don't recognize most of the other replacements (I don't think they have much, if any, other credits of note).

If not, then there doesn't seem like much of a reason for the dub not to include Marchi or Rial to reprise their roles. And even if they couldn't return, isn't Cherami Leigh union? Why didn't they at least contact her to reprise Kneesocks?

In regards to Amazon's dub, the original Panty & Stocking anime was never dubbed into other languages, except for English, but this new series was dubbed into multiple languages. Would it have been possible for Amazon Prime to re-dub the original series into English again with the new cast and also dub it into other languages so that international audiences could have a better understanding of the series, because when Netflix accquired the rights for new seasons of anime like TIger & Bunny and Kimi ni Todoke they did dub those series first seasons, they even redubbed Kimi ni Todoke intro French, because the series did have a dub into that language. Are there still some rights issues in regards to Panty & Stocking first season?

Basically every minute of that Jack Kirby/Hanna-Barbera episode I felt like I was in a fever dream and eventually just becoming the Leo Dicaprio pointing meme just going "I GET THAT" every couple of minutes. What a damn show.

I know it will forever be one of the most "it's not for everyone" shows of all the "it's not for everyone" shows, but I'm glad I got to see it.
