The October issue of Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine announced on Thursday that Wataru Karasuma will launch a new manga titled Bakko in the magazine's next issue on October 24.

The occult sword battle manga centers on a gloomy, introverted middle school girl named Bakko Shinno. One usual day at school, after Bakko finishes cleaning the clasroom that her classmates have left her to do, she secretly goes to a shrine to pray for a peaceful life and the misfortune of extroverts. Suddenly, a demon(?) calls out to her and targets her, putting her life in danger.
Karasuma launched the Not Lives manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in 2011, and Kadokawa published the 10th and final compiled book volume in January 2017. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series and published all 10 volumes.
Karasuma launched the Kakuregami (Hidden Gods) manga in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in February 2020. The manga abruptly ended due to "various circumstances" in 2021. Kadokawa published two volumes for the manga.
