Manga Up! Global Adds Notorious No More, The Free Life of the Forlorn Lady, 3 More Manga

Manga UP! Global added Kazusa Subaru's manga adaptation of Hanako Arashi's Notorious No More: The Villainess Enjoys Feigning Incompetence (Kitai no Akujo, Sandome no Jinsei de "Musai Munō" o Tanoshimu) novels in English on October 5 and added Saki Nagakura's manga adaptation of Yuto Yotsuba's The Free Life of the Forlorn Lady: Shining On as a Gem Appraiser After Getting Dumped (Botsuraku Reijō no Okinimesumama: Konyaku Haki Sareta node Hōseki Kanteishi to Shite Dokuritsu Shimasulight novel series in English on October 10.

In addition, the service added Gyūnyūmugigohan's Boyish Girlfriend (Boyish Kanojo ga Kawai Sugiru) manga on October 11, Megumu Soramichi and Itsuki Watanabe's From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: The Mage Knight's Origin (Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru Gaiden: Hajimari no Mahō Kenshi) manga on October 13, and Tsukasa Furokawa's I Can’t Choose A Childhood Friend! (Osananajimi o Erabenai!) manga on October 15.

Manga UP! describes Notorious No More: The Villainess Enjoys Feigning Incompetence:

In her first life, she was the infamous and “talentless” villainess Beljeanne. In her second life, she lived to the ripe old age of 86 as a Japanese woman. Now, in her third life, she carries all of those memories with her. A little old lady at heart, 16-year-old Laviange does all she can to hide her true abilities and live a perfectly normal life!

Subaru launched the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Online in October 2024. The company shipped the first compiled volume of the manga on June 12. 

J-Novel Club publishes Arashi's original light novel with illustrations by Wan Hachipisu. The story launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website and on the Kakuyomu website in May 2022.

Manga UP! describes The Free Life of the Forlorn Lady: Shining On as a Gem Appraiser After Getting Dumped:

Nagakura launched the manga in June 2024. Square Enix published the first volume on January 7.

Yotsuba launched the original story on the Kakuyomu website in February 2023. Square Enix publishes the novels in print with illustrations by Nanna Fujimi.

Manga UP! describes Boyish Girlfriend:

Akira is boyish in both looks and personality—and Daichi, her childhood friend turned boyfriend by their first year of high school, thinks she's too cute. Gyūnyūmugigohan launched the manga on X/Twitter in August 2024, and in Square Enix's Gangan pixiv online label on March 15.

Manga UP! describes From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: The Mage Knight's Origin:

A spinoff of the "From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman" series. Deep in the remote countryside of Liberia, young Fichelle Harbeller joins the dojo of famed swordsmaster Beryl Gardinant. Burning with a fierce determination, she quickly outpaces her peers in swordsmanship. And in the midst of her training, she also discovers her newly awakened talent for magic! Thus begins the journey of a girl striving to master both blade and sorcery.

Soramichi and Watanabe launched the manga on Square Enix's Manga UP! service in November 2024 as a spinoff of Shigeru Sagazaki's From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru: Tada no Inaka no Kenjutsu Shihan Datta noni, Taisei Shita Deshitachi ga Ore o Hōttekurenai Ken) light novel series.

Sagazaki launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in November 2020. Square Enix is publishing the novel volumes with illustration by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. J-Novel Club licensed the novel series and is releasing it in English.

Kazuki Satō launched the novels' manga adaptation in Akita Shoten's Dokodemo Young Champion magazine in August 2021. Yen Press releases the manga in English.

Manga UP! Global added Sasami Hazama's From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: The Twin Dragonblade's Journey to the Top spinoff manga on September 20.

The television anime of the novels premiered on April 5. The anime will have a second season in 2026.
