Irodori Aqua Licenses Isaki Uta Short Stories

OREGON, USA – May 17, 2022 – Irodori Aqua – all-ages-focused English localization imprint of original Japanese indie manga publisher Irodori Comics – is proud to announce that it has acquired the license to and will release “Isaki Uta Short Stories” by award-winning author Isaki Uta on May 28th, 2022.

Through a long-time established partnership with Isaki Uta, Irodori Aqua can once again bring the award-winning author's short stories to English-speaking audiences. Isaki Uta Short Stories consists of two works, Pops and Me and Forty Minutes to Mom, both of which were first published in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine and later reprinted as a self-published indie manga.
English-speaking audiences may be familiar with Isaki Uta through their other works, such as Mine-kun is Asexual, Leaper, and Is Love the Answer?.

A heartfelt pair of short stories about the ups and downs of loving those we call family, complete with all of its complications, but also how we sometimes end up finding joy in the most surprising of places.

The digital release of Isaki Uta Short Stories will be released on May 28th and is currently available for pre-order on the Irodori Aqua website. The 56-page-long volume is priced at $11.25. The work will subsequently be made available on other digital platforms at a later date as well.

ABOUT Irodori Comics: Irodori Comics works directly with Japanese manga artists to help localize and publish their works outside of Japan. The company believes in spreading indie Japanese Manga "doujinshi culture" around the world by publishing doujinshi for everybody. The Irodori Aqua label was created to serve the indie manga market, while the Irodori Sakura label was created to boost LGBTQ+ representation in indie manga publications. Both imprints serve to increase manga fan awareness regarding indie manga "doujinshi" and its role in the industry.
