Oriana Perón and Kaoru Wada to Appear at Matsuricon

COLUMBUS, OHIO - JULY 2, 2023 - Matsuricon is pleased to announce two more tremendous guests for our upcoming convention Into Another World: Oriana Perón & Kaoru Wada!

Oriana Perón is a cosplaying, costume and fashion designing drag queen. She has been cosplaying since 2006 when this nerdy hobby turned into a passionate career. Oriana has studied theatre and costume design at Indiana University and continues her studies with a focus on fashion design, metalsmithing, and jewelry. Recently, Oriana has produced and performed her Drag Race and Drag Show events at Ohayocon, Anime Magic, AnimeNext, C2E2, Matsuricon, and ACEN. Oriana currently lives in Bloomington, Indiana and is a producer and host for her shows, “World of Fantasy” and “World of Gayming” at The Back Door. Her favorite thing is dressing up like cartoon moms and sending memes to all her friends. Oriana looks forward to conventions coming back and seeing all her friends and fans again! You can find Oriana online at: www.orianaperon.com or on Instagram @orianaperon.

Kaoru Wada is active in a wide range of musical fields, including anime, film, television, theatre, and events, and has been involved in the musical side of well-known anime. While attending the Tokyo College of Music, he won the 30th Anniversary Memorial Competition of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, the Band of Tokyo, as well as the Japan Symphony Foundation Award. His work, “Dozokuteki-Bukyoku [Folkloric Dance Music] for Symphonic Wind Ensemble,” was selected as Theme Composition [Subject Work] of the All Japan Band Contest in 1984. Following his return from Europe to Japan, Wada was in charge of film music and accompanying music for animations (Japanese cartoons), including Inuyasha, as well as for movies, television, video, CD, dramas, and the stage. In 1995, his music for the Shochiku Film, Crest of Betrayal, was awarded a Japan Academy Prize. He has also served as an arranger for several television music programs, including “The Untitled Concert” of TV-Asahi, and “Meikyoku Album” and “Minna-no-Dowa” of NHK. He has also been responsible for the arrangement of the works of artists such as Yoshikazu Mera, Sojiro, and Eitetsu Hayashi.

This year's convention runs August 11-13th. Matsuricon can't wait to host such splendid guests at this year's con . . . or to see you there!
