Anime Trending Adds Industry Veteran to Board

Miles Atherton, previously of Anime Ltd. and Crunchyroll, will serve as advisor

San Diego, California; March 14th, 2024 – Anime Trending, the leading international marketing agency for the promotion of anime, has named industry veteran Miles Atherton to its board of directors in the role of advisor. With over 12 years of industry experience at Crunchyroll, Anime Ltd., and White Box Entertainment, Atherton will help solidify Anime Trending's overall leadership within the English-speaking anime and manga sphere.

Miles Atherton was previously the Chief Marketing Officer of Anime Ltd., Europe's premiere boutique distributor for Japanese animation, leading go-to-market campaigns for titles like One Piece Film: Red. Before that, Atherton spent nearly a decade at Crunchyroll, where he played a key role in the company's growth from 500k subscribers to over 5 million as Director of Audience Development, overseeing social media, curation, and news for the English-speaking world, with brand leadership on the promotion of titles such as Re:Zero, Yuri!!! on Ice, and Mob Psycho 100. His teams' efforts were recognized by The Drum, The Shorty Awards, and The Webby Awards, as well as winning Digiday's “Best Social Media Team” prize in 2019.

I've had the privilege to work with him throughout the years and I'm excited to have his knowledge and consultation now at Anime Trending,” said Kwok-Wai Hanson, Anime Trending's CEO. “He's been a pioneer in the industry and understands unique expectations from publishers.”

The board of Anime Trending now includes Kwok-Wai Hanson as Chief Executive Officer, Gracie Qu as Chief Financial Officer, Nicholas Monterosso as Chief Operations Officer; and Miles Atherton as Advisor.

Miles Atherton (previously known as Miles Thomas) is also the Chief Executive Officer of White Box Entertainment, LLC., a consultancy focused on intelligence and marketing strategy in the entertainment world, which will continue to partner with Anime Trending on projects going forward.
