Satoshi Kon's Masterpiece Perfect Blue Coming to 4K UHD for the First Time

Los Angeles, CA – With sophistication and a haunting edge, the groundbreaking psychological thriller Perfect Blue has frequently been hailed as one of the most important animated films of all time. 


Now, the directorial debut of acclaimed director Satoshi Kon (PaprikaTokyo Godfathers), comes to 4K UHD for the first time, when the 3-Disc set Perfect Blue (Collector's Edition) (4K UHD) arrives on December 23, 2025 from GKIDS, with distribution by Shout! Studios, a Radial Entertainment Company. The limited edition set is now available for pre-order.


Special features accompanying the 4K release of the critically-acclaimed film include a new, extended lecture by Director Satoshi Kon, as well as the "Angel of Your Heart" recording session and full English version, cast and crew interviews, and theatrical trailers and TV spots. This limited edition Collector's Edition also includes a new 132-page book, a poster, and 10 art cards, enclosed in a deluxe oversized rigid slipcase.
