Anime/Manga Releases Delayed After Quake: Part IV

The following anime, manga, and related releases have been delayed or cancelled in Japan after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster on March 11. Not all of the delays are directly related to the disaster.

Animelo Summer Live 2010

Due to production issues caused by the disaster, the King Records label delayed its Animelo Summer Live 2010 -evolution-8.28 and Animelo Summer Live 2010 -evolution-8.29 Blu-ray Discs and DVDs from April 6 to April 20.

Aniplex

Except for Yui Aragaki's Mahiru no Hoshi DVD, all new Aniplex releases previously scheduled for March 23 have been rescheduled to April 6:

Bandai Visual

The Japanese anime distributor announced on Tuesday that each Blu-ray Disc and DVD (for either retail or rental) that it scheduled for March 25 will ship on April 7 due to the disaster. Before the disaster, the Mobile Suit Gundam UC 3 release was already delayed to April 7. The following will also ship on April 7:

Beelzebub

The Mainichi Shimbun paper's Mantan Web site reports that the previously revealed preempting of Beelzebub on March 20 was out of concern for the story content in light of the disaster. Beelzebub has been preempted next week as well, and its return has not been scheduled.

Comic Gene

Due to the disaster, Media Factory has delayed the launch of its Monthly Comic Gene magazine from April 15. The new date will be announced later on the official website. Minari Endo and the other creators in the magazine posted messages of encouragement for the disaster victims.

Hen Zemi

The Hen Zemi television anime series will premiere on Tokyo MX and other stations on April 8, instead of April 2 on MBS as originally scheduled.

Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi

The television anime series will premiere on April 11, instead of April 4 as originally scheduled.

Katteni Kaizō

Due to production issues, the Katteni Kaizō original video anime will ship on May 25 instead of April 27.

Moshidora

The top page of the public broadcaster NHK's anime web section lists the premiere of Moshidora on April 8. However, NHK has not formally announced when Moshidora's premiere, which was delayed due to disaster news coverage, will occur.

NisiOisin

Due to the disaster, Kodansha has delayed its release of NisiOisin's Hanamonogatari novel to March 31. Kodansha's Taiga Anime Katanagatari Visual Guidebook will ship on April 6.

Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san

The Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san television anime series will premiere on Tokyo MX and other stations on April 8, instead of April 2 on MBS as originally scheduled.
