Watching episode 2 uncensored, I think the discussion if the anime is going to tone things down from the manga has been answered. The anime so far is more graphic than the manga in the events they displayed. The scenes of Keyaru in jail and all the people who came to visit him, as well as the scenes with Flare weren't as long in the manga, Seems like they're going all in, which makes me interested to see how they'll do certain future scenes.

Not that the anime didn't skip some stuff. They cut out a small part where Keyaru goes to the guard captain's room to confront him, and in general the anime tends to skip over the RPG stats and mechanics, like when Keyaru escaped from jail, he actually looks at a stat sheet of his skills and abilities and redistributes his stat allocations to be more suited for sneaking and escaping the castle by putting points into STR and AGI. Not really bothered by that change, it is a bit convoluted in exposition and doesn't flow as well in animation like it does on a manga page.

....there is one semi-consensual sexual partner spoiler[the Furry,] and even there he basically extorts her into having sex with him.

For those still wondering after episode 2 how low the show the can go- keep in mind the author front loaded the truly raunchy & "edgy" stuff into the beginning volumes.

The truly "edgy" chapters- I've left out a few non-consensual sex scenes:

This "spoils" the beginning volumes of the LN and chapters of the manga.

spoiler[
A lesbian, who enjoys raping young girls, will be forced to have group sex with three men(whom attempted to rape our hero while he was a girl) till they're sexually slated. The "men" have been of course transformed by the into sex crazed cannibals.

Our hero will capture Flare's little sister. Flare in a transformed state will have sex with her little sis. Little sis will then be transformed into being our hero's little sister. Our hero will then have repeated sex with his new little sister. And then because his new little sister once hated the Furry denizens of the world, she & his female furry companion become sexual partners...of course he joins them from time to time.

And last one I recall...this actually may happen before he revenge on the lesbian hero,
Our hero transformed a baddie into his own likeness,he got released from the dungeon and went looking for revenge...Well to make this short, the baddie gets transformed into a woman, except she kept her penis. And the baddie still had some loyal men. They get transformed into sex starved cannibals and proceed to gang rape their captain...In the end our hero burns the men to death.]

Hardly. It's the most watched show on ATX currently, and even if English and Japanese audiences may differ somewhat, it is still a good indication of its popularity...

This doesn't surprise me. People who aren't fans of edgy and/or trashy fan service shows tend to underestimate how popular they are. Critical panning and outrage mean little to nothing for titles like this.

This is a really sad attempt at a flex. Being the top of an extremely niche service doesn’t mean it’s even close to as popular as some of the lower ranking shows on other services. I guess I should believe that Adult Armor Shop II is more popular than Cells at Work because that's how it falls in the ATX rankings.

Pretty much.

I’m reminded of a scene in Dolemite is My Name where Rudy Ray Moore sees how panned his film is, with the critics calling it crude and vulgar. He essentially says when people see the reviews they’re going to watch just to see how crude and vulgar it is. (And in real life, Dolemite made $10 million in the 70’s and spawned a sequel called The Human Tornado, so Moore was on to something).

Not surprised. Game of Thrones is a prime example of proving people wrong. Doesn't matter if its anime/manga/books/shows/people; controversy is always popular.

Not surprised. Controversy brings in an views a lot.

Of course, retaining views is the bigger challenge. Not really seeing that happen with this.

I was just referring to it flopping in North America and Sentai possibly losing money as a result. Sentai acquiring Redo of Healer is conflicting for me because on the one hand it becoming a hit would help them financially. On the other hand I don't want to see brain dead, rape power fantasy anime become a trend. I like fanservice anime, but violence porn is a step too far.

I was more going for the phrase "F this shit I'm out", or the idea of walking in, seeing an absolute horrid or disgusting image/scene/train wreck, and then walking right back out the door.

That's not what the scene means though as Grandpa Simpson knew what he was walking into, some good old fashioned debauchery, only to find his grandson at the door.

Using the context here, it would mean you just want to enjoy the show but social norms and arguments are barring you from doing so. Also from the simple fact you post on each of these show threads, I just don't believe the "F this shit I'm out" excuse.

So you're going to tell me the context I personally chose to use the gif in? Wow, thanks. I didn't know that you knew me better than myself. I mean I could've sworn I knew exactly why I was using it and actually said as much. Thanks for letting me know that I was wrong and obviously don't know my own reasonings for things.

I post on each of these shows btw because users keep reporting them and posts within them. Virtually daily at this point. That's what moderators do. Now how about you stick to discussing the show, and leave the professor X mind reading schtick to Patrick Stewart.
