Great to see a real release. But I'll pass.

I'll admit I'm a demanding customer. I want blu ray quality with subs (dubs be damned) at a reasonable price or they don't get my money. It's a shame as unfotable puts out some great stuff, still wish I had Kara no Kyoukai on the shelf. $700 my balls.

It's good news for me I wanted the 700 dollar set but I didn't like the show enough for that price it was on my list of I'll get it eventually. Now with this cheaper Blu-Ray release I can swing that no problem.

Now if this was one of my all time favorites I would have bought it already, wasn't holding out but I'm glad I've been cutting back I own so much anime new that are still unwatched. Man this holiday is going to add up with me waiting for SOA to be fully released before I buy it and now Fate Zero too.

I'm surprised people aren't bitching that this newer release is still too much that it should cost funimation prices.

All I know is I still love my Garden on Sinners Blu-Ray set and it was worth every penny I paid for it.

....from the UK for less than half the cost. Cool

Good luck with trying to find a region free bluray player if you want to get the Blurays as the UK is region B. However, for me I'm in New Zealand which is the same region as the UK Smile))

The line "we have no plans at this time" just basically means that they do not want to make any sort of public statement. For example, when the magazine leaks for Azazel-san's second season were all over the internet the creators of Azazel said that "they have no plans at this time for a sequel". Less than 24 hours later, the official announcement for the sequel was made.

...OK, I'm lost. Clearly, at the time that was said, there were plans for a sequel. So how is that not an outright lie?

There's two kinds of truth, and therefore two kinds of lie.

Will this even have subs?

Good point. There was no mention of a Japanese audio track. They might pull a Persona 4 again. It unfortunately makes sense though given their hysteria of reverse-importation.

If that's the case, hopefully I won't have to sell my precious kidney to get this.

Figures. This seems to be their M.O. with certain shows. They did something similar with Kara No Kyoukai. I'm not surprised in the least bit.

The aniples USA link lists that the audio as Japanese and English with English and Spanish subtitles so it will be subtitled. It also says limited quantities so I hope it's not a super limited print run and order ASAP or it will be sold out like Kara no Kyoukai.

The product page on AoA's Fate/Zero page should allay your worries:

Well, I guess the prices aren't too bad this time. Thankfully, it also has a lot of extras. I'm still considering importing Madmen's release which is still likely to be half the price.

Good news about the languages, but my kidney is still history. Seriously, when will they release a simple 13 episode boxset that costs $60-70 retail (which will be marked down to $40 or less on Amazon) like a normal anime company? I don't care about any special features, I just want the dang show. I don't even care if I have to WAIT (we've already waited long enough). As long as I can get the show at a normal price. Otherwise, it just feels like I'm wasting money.

That's exactly the price point of the two DVD sets.
