Actress Ye-eun Shin has been confirmed to co-star in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Tae-pung Kim's Endurance Doctor (Jonbuh Doctor) webtoon. The series is set to premiere in 2026.
Endurance Doctor tells the story of Ji-ui Do (played by Jae-wook Lee), a plastic surgeon-turned-public health doctor assigned to the remote island of Pyeondong-do; and Ha-ri Yook (Ye-eun Shin), a nurse with a mysterious past. Together, they navigate challenges on the island while uncovering personal growth, community bonds, and unexpected romance.
Shin said, "I was drawn to the story of a close-knit community living together on an island. During the script reading, I was convinced, 'This will be such an entertaining drama!' and I want to approach it with confidence. I'm also especially excited to be working with a director and writer I've long wanted to collaborate with, and I look forward to the journey ahead with the cast and staff."
Myung-woo Lee (The Fiery Priest) is directing the series.
The original webtoon is not currently available in English.
