WEBTOON has announced a partnership with BOOM! Studios to adapt several of the publisher's leading titles into vertical-scroll webcomic editions for its English-language platform.

The agreement makes WEBTOON the exclusive home for digital scroll adaptations of Something Is Killing the Children, Wynd, Fence, and Lumberjanes.

The slate of BOOM! titles coming to WEBTOON include:

  • Something Is Killing the Children — James Tynion IV's comic focuses on the missing children of Archer's Peak. Most don't return — but the ones who do have terrible stories.

  • Wynd — The series from GLAAD Award-winning writer-artist duo Tynion and Michael Dialynas follows a young boy named Wynd with a secret: magical blood runs in his veins.

  • Fence — The story follows a young fencer named Nicholas Cox as he makes a name in the world of competitive fencing and lives up to his father's reputation.

  • Lumberjanes — An Eisner Award-winning and GLAAD Award-winning series that is a summer camp tale about five friends determined to have an amazing summer, despite the rampant supernatural phenomena around them.

Launch dates for each series will be announced at a later date.

The collaboration is the latest in WEBTOON's expanding collaborations with popular comics and manga publishers as well as with as popular IP.

WEBTOON has partnered with IDW Publishing in April to bring several of the publisher's popular titles to its English-language platform. In addition, WEBTOON added Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga on May 7. The service also announced a partnership with Dark Horse Comics in June to bring a slate of popular IPs — including Cyberpunk 2077, Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins, The Witcher, The Legend of Korra, and Plants vs. Zombies™ — to its English-language platform in vertical-scroll format. The service also announced a partnership in June with Saturday AM.

Earlier this month WEBTOON announced a global partnership with Disney to adapt and distribute around 100 comics from Disney, Marvel, 20th Century Studios, and Star Wars in WEBTOON's mobile vertical-scroll format. The service is also partnering with Paramount to bring Star Trek comics to its platform next year.
