It always suprised me that they didn't make this series into a "Dr. Who" type of series where the story potentially has unlimited sequels or alternate timelines (in this case litterarly). I hope they re-release the Kirisu figurine(s) as I got into the series only after the initial boom (just as Steins; Gate 0 was sold).

As for SG0. I bought it and platinumed it on the Vita. It is a very solid stand-alone story that builds upon the universe as a whole. It also takes some serious dives into scientific fields other than time-space continiuoms, where people interested in AI technology and neuro science will have a field day. Cool

They kind of did already, with this it means that it will definitely be released around 2018.

But that doesn't say when in 2018.

Steins;Gate 0 is taking its sweet time because it has to be perfect. If the quality isn't at least on the same level as Steins;Gate, it'll get attacked immediately by the fanbase.

Did they ever re-release the BD with the changed ending leading to Steins;Gate 0 world line?

I mean that version is the only one that has been aired in recent history.

I'm really curious how on earth the anime of 0 is even going to work.

spoiler[Are they going to just trim out having to do both routes and just do the one that leads to the real ending, or are they going to halfway through the series abandon the plot to that point and start over going the other direction? And will they be keeping the stupid Yuki plot twist that accomplishes nothing?]

I'm very eager to see it, just confused as to how exactly you can properly adapt it. Related note, one definite change I'd make from the visual novel is...

spoiler[They should really re-do the ending from the original at the end of 0. 0's ending on Okabe just about to go fix everything really just feels limp.]

Actually, I think it's due to the plot structure in Steins; Gate 0. You have to play through the visual novel at least 2 times (with the correct routes) completely. I wouldn't even know where to start writing an anime for that especially since those 2 routes diverge completely at a certain point.

This.

Steins;Gate is one of those series that has managed to become more than just a game and anime. The anime series itself has gotten A LOT of positive attention, even from those who generally don't like anime. I think the producers are quite aware that this project will get a lot of attention worldwide when it gets released, so it behooves them to get it right.

Well, the way I see it there isn't an issue spoiler[as a matter of fact all 6 endings are cannon and brings the same result, as they all happened. Even your dead future AI-self (as a result of getting captured and tortured/discarded) is needed as the future resistance uses that version to upload back into "your" body after they raid the facilities, etc. (how you faked your death/cheated history). However, you don't have to follow the route in order to get the details explained, and if the anime has to cut some content, then those "needed, but not conclusive" endings can easily be added through dialogue. Also, we are diverging "sideways" at the very beginning, and there's nothing really saying that's not possible to do twice within a season.]

The few anime I've seen that were adapted from games with multipal endings aways seemed too vaguely ambiguous or disjointed at ending. I can't see this one being any different. It's just another twist of the story to mangle more money out of it. Rolling Eyes
