Ending for the TV series was terrible.

So I guess the OVA is to make up for such a shitty end.

Minor article corrections... the anime was by TNK, not SHAFT, and the 7th DVD release was previously announced as canceled, and is now being re-solicited as an OVA. So, more or less, they just switched the solicitation around over the last few weeks to go from 7 DVDs to 6 DVDs + OVA (=7 DVDs). Yay for PR... ^^;

I just wonder how long until a US release. Though, more is good either way.

I'd say never. Shows like these are literally a dime a dozen. Just because they exist doesn't mean they should be licensed. This show was incredibly mediocre at best, usually bordering on the line of bad. I only watched it because there were so many known voice actresses in it.

Anyway, there's just no way to play this up as a good show, unless you like contrived and forced drama that's been done by at least 50 other anime. Licensing money would be better spent on other shows, unless they were able to get this one for a steal and release it sub-only.

Just because it is bad to you doesn't mean everyone thinks it is bad. But, I do know that a US release isn't extremely likely. If it does get released here, Media Blasters will more than likely be the ones to license it, meaning sub-only.

I agree. Besides, there are other shows of the same vein this season which would be a far better investment for liscensors (Kannagi and Toradora! anyone? I'm a hopin'). But then again, we got R1's of Dokuro-Chan and Punie-Chan, so who really knows...

I would much rather see shows like this that the crap that has been licensed lately. If you don't like it, that fine. You probably would be surprised how many people would pick this one up along with many other similar titles. I get sick and tired of people posting this crap on sites just because they don't like a show or a certain genre . . . . It's time for people who do like these shows to be a little more vocal about it to anime companies in the US. After all, that how Kanon & a few others have been licensed in the last couple of years (Irregardless of licensing issues brought on business decisions)

And Megiddo, The show ended just like it should have . . .

Now I will admit I would much rather see releases of Kannagi and Toradora here before Akane-Iro. But all 3 would be better.
