We're finally getting a rugby anime! It's certainly coming out at a good time, right after Japan's incredible win over South Africa (if a single episode is even half as epic as that game I'll be satisfied) and with the world cup they'll be hosting steadily approaching.

Those are some cool character designs and I can't wait to see how they animate such a physical sport compared to many recent sports series.

Sports anime are my fav, so I will definitely check this out! The style doesn't appeal to me, but I haven't been let down by a sports series yet so I'll give it a chance anyway.

Hosoya also seems to show up in the cast for every sports anime going, which is wonderful because his voice is fantastic.

Oh look, yet another sports anime with a short first year as the main character. How original.

Probably going to watch it, though.

I hate sports but I love sports anime. And two newbie seiyuu, plus Hosoyan! Yay!

This looks promising. Not many sports anime out there about Rugby, or at least none I can think about. I might actually watch this. The guys look so handsome and muscular, not at all like the almost twig-boys of today. Smile

Never underestimate fujoshi! Twisted Evil

The character designs are more beefy than I expected but, in a believable, hefty way. It would have been uncanny for members of a contact sport team being pretty. Can't wait to check it out along with Prince of Stride next year!

Most of those "twigs" came form sports where lean muscle was necessary for their real life counter part. Compare the character designs of Prince of Tennis or YowaPeda to actual athletes and you see the designers did their homework. Same for rugby where bigger bodies are important.

Obviously, anyone who has experience or academic knowledge of Athletic Training and physiology will conduct more accurate deductions on the subject, but that's my general view on the topic.

I wasn't really referring to or thinking about boys from other sports anime, just anime boys in general.

The blond boy has an amazing body. 10/10.

Liking what I'm seeing so far. Hope to see a preview soon.

Laughing I gotcha. What I was getting at before was that in non-sports anime, the boys/men always look a bit too... physically average.

I'm just waiting for the day when the Japanese discover Cricket. Then the Saffers won't have anywhere to hide.

I play soccer, and I know there is no way I can beat a rugby player in a street fight. Their muscular bodies are pieces of living art. It is kind of surprising that I've never heard of a single sumo wrestler who used to play rugby.
