German Rating Board Lists Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Journey - Deluxe Edition Switch Game

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Level-5 and Dentsu Inc.'s California-based subsidiary Level-5 abby submitted the Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Journey - Deluxe Edition Nintendo Switch game for a rating on January 30 to Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK; Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body), the German game rating board.

The Layton Mystery Journey Katrielle to Daifugō no Inbō DX (Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Journey DX) game launched for Nintendo Switch in Japan on August 9. The game is an enhanced version of the Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Journey game, which launched in Japan for Nintendo 3DS and worldwide for iOS and Android devices in July 2017. The game then launched for Nintendo 3DS in the West in October 2017.

In the game, Katrielle "Kat" Layton is the daughter of Professor Hershel Layton. The story is set in London, where she solves any incident, from missing cats to murder cases. Her initial purpose, however, was to look for her father, who has disappeared. The game was originally titled Lady Layton: Fugō-ō Ariadne no Inbō (Lady Layton: Millionaire King Ariadne's Conspiracy).

The original game inspired the Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File television anime, which premiered on April 8 and airs every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on Fuji TV and other channels. Like the game, the anime is set in London and follows Katrielle as she solves mysteries with her talking dog Sherl.
