10,000 Fans Chime in On Their Favorite PlayStation Games

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of PlayStation, over 10,000 Japanese video game fans were asked to chime in on some of their all-time favorite games.

Here's what they picked as their top 10 favorite games:

  1. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
  2. Final Fantasy VII
  3. Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
  4. Final Fantasy X
  5. Resident Evil
  6. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
  7. Final Fantasy
  8. Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden (Dragon Warrior VII)
  9. Puyo Puyo
  10. Tetris

Breaking down the outer demographics a little more, here are the top ten, as picked by gamers in their teens:

  1. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
  2. Kingdom Hearts II
  3. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
  4. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (Monster Hunter Freedom Unite)
  5. Kingdom Hearts
  6. Boku no Natsuyasumi
  7. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
  8. Dynasty Warriors 2
  9. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
  10. Resident Evil

Here is the top ten for fans in their 40s:

  3. Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
