Dress Up Your Human-Shaped Hug Pillow for Endless Cuddle Possibilites

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Hug pillows (or dakimakura) have an established fanbase with limited edition character covers sold exclusively at Comiket and other anime and game events. The covers can be pretty pricey, and in the end, the pillow can't hug you back. Goods producer Bibi Lab are out to fix that.

Introducing the "Cotton Wife" and "Cotton Husband" humanoid-shaped pillows, the next evolution is giant doll/hugging pillow technology. Also, check out the Madoka Magica-inspired logo, which is either a sign of the product's magical properties or some hidden dark secret lurking under the surface.

The idea was conceived to improve the lonely period of people's lives. The wife is "full of unconditional love" and measures 150cm tall (about 5'0"). The husband is an "unintrusive gentleman" and measures 165cm (about 5'4"). Each is a body-shaped pillow stuffed inside a washable cover.

Things your new spouse can do with you, according to Bibi Labs:

Cosplay

Snuggle

Help prevent home invasion

Go with you on a leisurely drive

Attend your Christmas party

Kabe-don

Watch TV

The Cotton Wife retails for 8,400 yen (about US$71) and the Cotton Husband retails for 10,800 yen (US$91).
