Illustrator Mel Kishida Tries His Hand at Voice Acting in Atelier Drama CD

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Illustrator and character designer Mel Kishida is known for his cute character designs for Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow and Heaven's Memo Pad. Now, Kishida is revisiting his work on the Atelier game series, but this time he's trying his luck as a voice actor.

Kishida is making his voice acting debut on the second Rorona, Totori, Meruru no Atelier Variety CD as a "legendary artist." Voice actresses Mai Kadowaki (Rorona), Kaori Nazuka (Totori), Satomi Akesaka (Meruru), Atsuko Tanaka (Astrid), Asami Imai (Ceci), and Yuka Iguchi (Mimi) are reprising their roles from the game series.

The CD goes on sale on March 25.

When he isn't drawing, Kishida is building a reputation for his habit of participating in silly stunts. He already took on a professional sumo wrestler, crossplayed as Shimakaze from Kan Colle, and asked fans to sign his body suit.
