Giant Terraformars Train Station Posters Blend Manga Characters with Live-Action Cast

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

The upcoming live-action adaptation of Terraformars is really pushing its manga-to-reality aspect with a new poster campaign.

The film will be advertised by special lenticular posters, or "changing visual" posters. As one moves from side to side, the image will shift from a manga illustration of a character to their live-action counterpart, both in the same pose. The illustrations will be done by the original manga artist, Kenichi Tachibana. Five posters will be displayed throughout Shinjuku and Shibuya from November 16 to 22.

Aside from Hideaki Ito pictured above, the other posters will feature Emi Takei (Nanao Akita), Tomohisa Yamashita (Jin Mutō), Takayuki Yamada (Ichirō Hiruma) and Shun Oguri (Kō Honda).

The live-action film, directed Takashi Miike (who also directed other live-action adaptations such as Ace Attorney and As the Gods Will) will be released on April 29 of next year.

Shinjuku is also currently home to an exclusive Terraformars manga chapter displayed on the walls of Shinjuku Station.
