Gintama Characters Don Doggie Cosplay as Capsule Toys

Bandai is unleashing a pack of Gintama capsule toy figures at the end of May. The figures depict dog kigurumi-wearing versions of five main characters from Hideaki Sorachi's manga and its anime adaptations. The mini figures will cost 300 yen (about US$3) each.
The popular franchise has also released many full-size character figures. A fan poll held last fall chose a gender-swapped version of Sōgo Okita as the newest Gintama entry in MegaHouse's GEM line. The GEM line first released Gintoki in 2009 and followed with Tōshirō Hijikata, Shinsuke Takasugi, Elizabeth, and many others. A gender-swapped Gintoki was offered in 2015 after an episode reimagined the whole cast. Kagura topped a poll to choose figures in the line in 2012. Bandai Namco also released "half-age" Gintama figures in 2011.
