EGOIST Singer Persona Performs on Your Phone Thanks to AR Poster

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The opening theme song single for Fate/Apocrypha comes with a unique bonus feature. The CD for EGOIST's track "Eiyū Unmei no Uta" (The Song of a Hero's Fate) went on sale on August 16 and its limited and first pressing editions include a poster that doubles as an AR code.

Users can download "EGOIST AR" app and, while using their phone or tablet's camera on the poster, a life-size version of the band's vocalist persona Inori Yuzuriha will appear wearing a costume and sing the theme song. The app also works when the camera is held over the CD jacket.

Netflix will stream Fate/Apocrypha in the U.S. and Canada starting on November 7.

EGOIST previously performed theme songs for Guilty Crown, the three Project Itoh films, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, and both seasons of Psycho-Pass, among others. The group is produced by supercell composer Ryo. Seven of EGOIST's singles (including "KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS"), as well as their one album, have charted on Oricon's weekly top 10.
