posted on by Egan Loo
Based on supernatural anime about Demon Patrol that arrests demons in human world

The publisher Kadokawa Shoten has revealed on its website that Gō Nagai's Dororon Enma-kun supernatural anime and manga franchise has a new anime adaptation, Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera, in the works. In the original 1973-1974 anime, Emma-kun, Yukiko Hime, and Kapaeru are members of a Demon Patrol that are sent to the human world to arrest demons.

The online PDF document that reveals the anime is the preview for the November issue of Young Ace magazine, which will ship in Japan on October 4. The document lists http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/dororon-enmakun/ as the (currently inactive) website for the anime.

Update: More background information added.

Update 2: The original Dororon Enma-kun already inspired a 2006 video remake called Demon Prince Enma, which Bandai Entertainment licensed for North America. The November issue of Young Ace will also launch two manga series: Sae Amatsu's Shururun Yukiko Hime-chan manga based on Dororon Enma-kun, and Tony Takezaki's Evangelion gag manga based on Khara and Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime.
