Queen's Blade: Rebellion's Additional Cast Revealed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Magazine scans have revealed additional cast members for the Queen's Blade: Rebellion television anime series, the third television series in the Queen's Blade franchise.

The additional cast is as follows:
Kikuko Inoue as Imprisoned Dragon Soldier Branwen
Harumi Sakurai as Moonlight Dancer Luna Luna
Suzuko Mimori as Jewel Princess Eilin
Ayana Taketatsu as Summons Warrior Aldra
Minako Kotobuki as War God Warrior Izumi
Satomi Satou as Divine Punishment Enforcer Lyla

The show's main story is set four years after the first Queen's Blade anime's storyline. Annelotte, who is played by voice actress Aya Endō, leads the army that stands up to the tyranny of the new queen.

The story originated in Hobby Japan's Queen's Blade fantasy game book franchise, which are Japanese spinoffs from Flying Buffalo's Lost Worlds game series. (In these games, players simulate turn-based fighting with books that each represent a character.) The Queen's Blade books also inspired the previous two television anime series and several original video anime volumes. The Rebellion storyline in particular already spawned two prologue original video anime DVDs that were bundled with the Queen's Blade Premium Visual Books.

A new director, Yousei Morino (I''s, Kakyūsei 2), is helming the third series at the studio ARMS, but Hideki Shirone is returning from Queen's Blade Utsukushiki Tōshi-tachi. Animation directors Takayuki Noguchi and Yukiko Ishibashi now join Rin-Sin on the character design duties.

The new series will premiere in Japan on April 3.
