Makoto Sanda's Majo Suiri Gothic Mystery Novels Get Manga
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The gothic mystery novels center on Kunori Orizue, a beautiful and mysterious girl who calls herself a "witch," when all manner of mysterious and questionable incidents happen in her vicinity. She reunites with a childhood friend named Takumi, who gets drawn into all the incidents around Kunori.
Sanda published the first novel in the series in August 2023, and the second novel in December 2023. The novels feature art by Kaomin.
Sanda and illustrator Isuo Tsukumo launched The Ancient Magus' Bride: Wizard's Blue (Mahō Tsukai no Yome Shihen.108: Majutsushi no Ao), a spinoff manga of Kore Yamazaki's The Ancient Magus' Bride, in the Manga Doa app in April 2019, and ended it in March 2024. Seven Seas licensed the manga, and released the eighth volume in April 2024.
Sanda published his Rental Magica light novel series from 2004 to 2013 in 24 volumes. He serialized the novel series in Kadokawa's The Sneaker light novel magazine before it ceased publication in 2011. A 24-episode television anime adaptation premiered in 2007. Right Stuf released the series on DVD in North America.
Sanda wrote The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II, a light novel series in Kinoko Nasu and Type-Moon's Fate/stay night universe, and primarily centered on a character from Gen Urobuchi's Fate/Zero spinoff novels. Toh Azuma launched a manga adaptation of the novels in October 2017. The novels inspired the Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace note television anime in 2019, as well as a 2021 anime special.
Sanda was the dungeon master for the "Red Dragon" tabletop role-playing session that inspired the Chaos Dragon television anime. Type-Moon co-founder and Fate/stay night writer Kinoko Nasu participated as player in the game, alongside Fate/Zero author Gen Urobuchi, and other Japanese authors.
